All the buzz heading into the Arizona Cardinals' preseason opener was understandably centered on quarterback and No. 1 overall pick Kyler Murray -- and the 2018 Heisman Trophy winner did not disappoint, Men's Mariners Cooperstown Dry Collection Seattle Royal Shorts Fly Jersey College 2 Seminoles Sanders Deion Limited Red Stitched
But the Cardinals' No. 2 quarterback, Chandler High School Brett Hundley, had an impressive outing of his own vs. the Los Angeles Chargers at State Farm Stadium on Thursday night.
The former Green Bay Packers and Seattle Seahawks QB completed 10 of 14 passes for 104 yards and a beauty of a touchdown to wide receiver Trent Sherfield in the final minute of the first half to get the Cards on the board. Hundley also had a 14-yard run.
Hundley starred at Chandler HS and UCLA and went on to be a fifth-round selection in the 2015 NFL Draft. He was a free-agent acquisition by the Cardinals in March.
In 2017, Hundley became the second-ever Arizona native (after ASU alum Danny White) to play in an NFL conference championship game.
